Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) was established in 1988 and received Government recognition in 1999. It was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee in May 2000 under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984. It is working as a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) having its Registered & Head Office located at 16-B Westwood Colony, Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore and Regional Office South located at Office 204, 2nd Floor, Suleman Center, SC-5, ST-17, Sector 15, Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi. In 2024, PAAPAM’s license from the Directorate General of Trade Organizations – Ministry of Commerce was renewed for five years until September 2024.
PAAPAM is the apex body representing the interests of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers in Pakistan, providing managerial and technical support to its membership of over 290 manufacturers specialized in a broad range of engineering technologies.
Being a trade association, PAAPAM works as an advocacy group that is an effective link between the policy-makers in the government and the automotive parts manufacturing industry. It also provides a shared platform and guidance for interaction with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers to resolve common issues faced by its members.
PAAPAM hosts and manages local trade exhibitions including the Pakistan Auto Parts Shows (PAPS) and manages members’ participation in international exhibitions for export development.
PAAPAM helps in capacity building, skill development and advancement in management practices of its members through training programs and seminars conducted and coordinated by PAAPAM Skill Development Center (PSDC) and sharing of knowledge & information for members’ benefit. It also facilitates technology transfer to encourage Research & Development, technological upgrades and continuous improvement in systems and processes by partnering with local and international organizations both in the private and public sectors.
PAAPAM also assists members in resolving their differences and disputes and offers arbitration for settlement of disputes amongst parties.
